Paralysis. True, one word can never adequately define the decline of America. But it comes pretty close. Other words offer some needed reinforcement. Cowardice, certainly. Profligacy, an obvious choice. Corruptness, in your face every day. Gluttony, an epidemic. And Treachery, at the very pinnacle of power. But paralysis remains the most relevant. It suggests that this nation’s people, staring in the face of evil, are somehow incapacitated, disabled, powerless to rescue themselves and their country from the enemy within. You listen and watch broadcast media interviews, however distracted you may be on occasion by silken limbs and glistening lips. The pundits, commentators, lawmaker guests and other experts recite chapter and verse about what ails America. They wail and whine. They protest and proclaim. And they, of course, exempt themselves from the issue du jour — from the  healthcare fiasco, or the amnesty debacle, or the rocketing debt, or a Middle East run amok, or IRS extortion, or Medicare fraud, or Immigration Fraud, or Crony Capitalism Fraud. And, yes, they admit they now have Congressional power and the power of the purse; but doggone it, the POTUS will not give us an inch on his agenda. He’s a real meanie, he is. He skips merrily along, personally running what is now the world’s largest, richest banana republic; and even sends his minions to Israel to see if he can dim the Zionest star by neutralizing its current leader. Meanwhile, the GOP and media critics excoriate the POTUS for refusing to call Islamist Terrorists what they are — Islamist Terrorists. In other words, they rightly claim, until you call something by its name, you can not begin to defeat it. Yet these very same critics have refused for years to call America’s domestic enemy by name — the one and only Barack Hussein Obama. They refuse to say, publicly at least, that he’s anti-America. They refuse to suggest that, in his heart at least, he is Muslim. They refuse to formally denounce him for engaging in a relentless practice of lies and deception. They refuse to acknowledge that he systematically and deliberately has undermined America’s global hegemony, its domestic tranquility, its vital resources and its economic sovereignty. Through his action and inaction, a mountain of documented evidence proves he routinely has violated his sacred oath — to “. . . preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Yet those we have elected to preserve this “shining city on a hill” avoid their own sworn duty, allowing the city’s lights to dim one by one. Fearing racial demonstration, media hostility and personal risk, they will not renounce and remove the enemy in the WH, despite his stack of impeachable offenses. In private business, any CEO can eventually bite the dust through poor performance or moral turpitude. In professional or college sport, nobody puts up with a losing coach, or a washout player, at least not for very long. But arguably for the biggest job on earth, the Separation of Powers permits any traitorous behavior, any amount of perjuring and any amount of incompetence.  The lawmakers you entrust to protect and preserve the America you love remain frozen like the proverbial deer in the proverbial headlights. In the grip of a numbing paralysis. Willing, evidently, to tolerate the enemy within.

Her name is Elizabeth Marie Harf, Deputy Spokesperson for the US State Department. She appeared on The Kelly File January 12 to recite a bunch of weasel talking points about why the Obama administration refuses to use the “I” word in the war on Islamic terrorism. She spent most of her time, not only justifying the administration’s position, but astonishingly trumpeted a series of foreign policy successes — victories, mind you — that the administration allegedly had won. There must be a word that surpasses “gall” to characterize the deceitful drivel that flows out of spokespersons like her and Josh Earnest who weave, duck, and spin utter hokum to justify the most deadly, pernicious, if not traitorous, foreign policy in American history. From beheading to mass executions, to kidnappings and rape to territorial invasion to cyber terrorism — the world is in chaos — and no one is more responsible for this free fall than one Barack Obama whose ideology and personal Muslim devotion has gravely weakened America and threatened its national security. For many, he has in fact violated his oath of office. Yet Harf, like all Obama spokespersons, glibly and arrogantly puts aside any sense of professional integrity to smile condescendingly as she blows smoke from her 33 year-old mouth. Not a pretty mouth, by the way. Which brings you to an observation — that, with rare exception, Democrat institutions invariably search for rather plain, if not ugly, women to hold high office. Or perhaps that’s an unfair assertion. Because statistics likely will show that homely women are smarter and more ambitious than pretty women and thus deserve their bureaucratic appointments. And you can’t overlook the likelihood that the Fox Television Network simply scarfs up all the leggy foxes who prove that glamor and brains can indeed coalesce in a tight dress. In any event, outside of Hollywood and other entertainment venues, you must agree Democrat women politicians and activists would be hard pressed getting a date at a maximum security prison. To her credit, Harf never had to lean on looks. She earned her MA in Foreign Affairs from UVA. Doubtless, her magniloquent gifts won her showy positions in the CIA and the State Department. You can’t bring yourself to cattily suggest her work on Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign gave her a leg up, can you? Of course not. Right out of school, her incisive mind propelled her as an analyst focusing on Middle Eastern leadership issues. Next, media spokesperson of the CIA. Next, adviser to Obama on national security and communications strategy. Next, campaign spokeswoman on national security issues. Wow. Not one day of military service. Not one day as a CIA operative. Not one day as a foreign diplomat. Not one day in law enforcement. But now you’re being petty. You can’t blame her for winning a job with no real-world experience and accomplishment. After all, she had a role model. He sits in the WH.

You had the best of intentions — seriously — to offer a positive outlook for the New Year. But you made a dumb mistake. You watched TV. Prognosticators of all kinds — journalists, philosophers and politicians — advanced opinions about the year that just died. But every one of them missed the top story of the  15th year of the 21st century. It wasn’t Trayvon Martin. It wasn’t Ferguson. It wasn’t the IRS scandal, Benghazi, the mid-term election beat-down or the executive amnesty debacle. Or even America’s international irrelevance in showdowns with ISIS, Putin, Iran, Syria — well — pick a country — any country. No, the scoop of 2014 was the stunning attainment of one Barack Obama, to become the most successful president since George Washington. GW gets top billing because the Grand Experiment rested entirely on his shoulders. Two hundred eighteen years later, Barack Hussein Obama announced to all Americans that he would transform GW’s United States and, given their vote of confidence, set out to do exactly that. He laid out his agenda in clear, explicit language and, to the letter, delivered on that promise. You could not give him any grade less than A+. His promise came to its ultimate conclusion with adoption and implementation of national healthcare, the foundational pathway to socialism. It happened that at least two thirds of Americans didn’t want Obamacare. But the President couldn’t care less. And neither did the GOP-controlled House members who had no stomach to oppose him and no courage to defend The Constitution, even after the people elected them twice to do just that. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day, as bowl games ran amok, Obama’s transformation of America roared victoriously with the following TV ad:

Yes, this ad runs repeatedly on American television. Read it again and again. America has come to this — transformed from the land of self reliance to the land of entitlement, from the land of givers to the land of takers, from the land of responsibility to the land of dependency, from the land of moral greatness to the land of immoral excess, from the land of spiritual belief to the land of secular self-worship, from the land of global prestige and power to the land of disrespect and impotence. Some will say this summary is distorted, false or melodramatic. If so, they must ignore a mountain of evidence. A national debt eclipsing 18 trillion dollars. Over 22 million people unemployed or under-employed. Nearly 50 million people on food stamps. Welfare benefits surpassing minimum wage. Racial division at an all-time high. Crony capitalism thriving. The DOJ making a mockery of justice. Education failing at every level. The world teetering on a powder keg. And still, with this new year in its infancy, Obama’s transformation of  Washington’s America need not stand. The new and incumbent members of Congress can begin doing the noble work of restoration. Is restoring America worth risking their political lives, fortunes and sacred honor? Be vigilant. You don’t have long to wait for the answer.
